Hello! ^ ^ I have a few question, so bear with me.
1. Can you just clarify for me what time period/equivalent time period we're in?
2. I understand that the magic system is drawn from a book? Is that the same as the plot and the world/setting? If so, is it a problem if I haven't read it?
3. Do Confessor powers also affect animals?
4. Do Confessor's powers affect other Confessors?
5. Can you prevent the Confessor's power from working by wearing gloves?

Don't worry honey that's all good! That's what this board is for!
ONE, the time period is similar to that of the renaissance/medieval ages. Back when women still wore dresses; no pants, etc. If you require further information on this part please do ask.
TWO, Yes, that's where it's drawn from. The setting is also based on the book, though if my memory serves me right, we have added some of our own features and feel to it. As for reading it, no it is not a problem. I myself have not read the books. They - Sci Fi channel - has made it into a TV show now though. Called "Legend of the Seeker". It doesn't follow the book too well but they do show you such things like the mord siths. LINK ONE. There being an example of a mord sith for instance. You can look up most of Legend of the Seeker references on youtube now. So that can yelp you greatly.
THREE, You know thats never once crossed my mind. I would probably have to say I can not see how that would benefit them. I do understand asking the question just to get things out there; but the confessor's powers are usually used to get answers from POW. LINK TWO. There's more on the confessors on that page in case you didn't see it before.
FOUR, Confessor powers affect almost everyone from what I've read from the book and seen in the show. That'd be an interesting thing to play out; but yeah I'm pretty sure they do.
FIVE, mmmmmm...That's a good question to be honest. I'm a little befuddled by it. I'm going to have to say wait for Flavia to answer that one. Or I shall ask her for you. In my peronsal opinion I can see how that would stop it; but again going to make sure we're right on this!
If any other questions please feel free to ask Flavia, Shelle or myself!

Heyy Flavia here (:
Emmi did a great job at answering your questions! I just had a few things to add.
THREE: the confessors cannot use their power on animals. though i may have to look through the book to be 100% sure about that.
FOUR: their power cannot be used on one another. and once a confessor has used her power on someone, that person can never go back to the way they were. in the tv show, if the confessor dies, the people she confessed go back to normal. but in the book and on this site, if the confessor dies, those she's confessed die with her.
FIVE: for the confessor power to work, the confessor's skin must touch the skin of the one she is confessing.
hope that cleared things up! feel free to ask any of us if you have any additional questions (:
