Wizards
First Wizard The First Wizard is elected by all of the Wizards and Sorceresses residing in the Palace of Raziel. He is in charge of the palace as well as everything and everyone within it. The First Wizard acts as a sort of Headmaster and Political Figure at the same time. He is very highly regarded, and will even rank higher than certain Kings or Queens. He remains in office until his death, or until the Wizards and Sorceresses at the Palace of Raziel choose another. [[note: the First Wizard can either be a Regular Wizard or a War Wizard.]]
Wizards Wizards can either choose to reside in the Palace of Raziel, or anywhere else in the world. Some have become the advisers of Kings and Queens, while others have become Kings themselves. Regular Wizards wary in ranges of power, and they can only use Additive Magic [Light Magic]. This means that with their magic they can only add to what already exists; say for example adding a flame to a candle, adding water to a basin, heating water. They can also form spells, though only those using Additive Magic. Some Wizards focus on specific areas such as healing, prophecy, or battle. "A wizard born with both sides of the gift (Additive and Subtractive) who uses their magic on instinct and need. Their rage and need is used to ignite their power. War Wizards are extremely rare. War wizards are the ones with the power to tear the veil, and also the ones with the power to defeat the Keeper and return him to the Underworld."
War Wizards These Wizards are exceedingly rare. Though in the past two decades there have been more War Wizards born than in the past three thousand years. These Wizards have all of the Regular Wizard powers, as well as being able to control Subtractive Magic [Dark Magic]. With this additional force, they can subtract things from what already exists in the world; for example, a particular colour in a piece of clothing, extinguishing someones life, or completely erasing something from the world...such as a horse or an entire building [if they are strong enough in controlling their magic that is].
Wizards in Training These could include either Regular Wizards or War Wizards. Either way, they have not fully developed their ability to control their power. Therefore they require knowledge and guidance from the Wizards and Sorceresses working in the Palace of Raziel, or any other schools of this sort.
Sorceresses
First Sorceress Basically the same thing as the First Wizard. They rule the Palace of Raziel side by side, although they are not required to be a couple or married or anything of that sort. In the past they haven't even been friends. The First Sorceress is mainly in charge of the other Sorceresses, although she also has power over the Wizards and Wizards in Training at the palace. The first Sorceress more often than not is a Sorceress of the Light.
Sorceresses of the Light Similar to the Wizards, only difference being that they are female. These Sorceresses only control Additive Magic; explained above under "Wizards". Some sorceresses may have certain talents; such as healing, prophecy, or battle.
Sorceresses of the Dark These Sorceresses posses the same powers as the Sorceresses of the Light, except that like War Wizards they can also control Subtractive Magic; explained above under "War Wizards". These Sorceresses weren't born with this other part to their gift however, they acquired it by siding with the Keeper of the Dead. Their main purpose in life, once they've sworn themselves to the Keeper is to bring the world to its end.
Novices [sorceresses in training] Can either be Sorceress of the Light or Sorceresses of the Dark in becoming. Like Wizards in training, they do not yet have complete control over their gift and must be taught and guided by Sorceresses and Wizards who possess the knowledge and experience.
Mord Sith
Head Mord Sith The Head Mord Sith unlike all other Mord Sith is not always female. This person is in charge of the basic training of all Mord Sith, and they personally select the young girls who are to be trained into becoming Mord Sith. This person ranks about as high as a General or Lieutenant General. Like all other Mord Sith, this person serves under the Land of Kenric, currently under the Royal name of Mikhail.
Mord Sith "Woman trained in the art of giving pain, and breaking a mind in order to get answers. Mord-Sith are chosen as little girls, and the nicest ones make the best mord-sith. A Mord-Sith is broken three times during her training. The first time, the girl is tortured until her spirit is broken, the second time, she must watch her mother be killed to break her empathy, and the third time she must kill her fatherto break her fear of hurting another, all with the very same agiel. A Mord-Sith has the ability to capture the magic of one who has the gift, rendering it useless, and giving the Mord-Sith the ability to use that person's gift to cause pain." They are used to torture those with the gift who have been captured by the King of Kenric. The Mord Sith's favorite and most used weapon is a leather rod [about one foot in length] called an Agiel. This weapon functions through the Mord Siths' connection to their King [who has been and always will be a wizard]. This seemingly harmless rod can bring large amounts of pain. When presses hard enough against the skin, blood will begin to surface through the skin, bringing unimaginable pain and suffering. The Agiel can be used for slow torture, or for a quick kill. When a Mord Sith wishes to rid themselves of someone, get them out of the way swiftly, they merely have to press the Agiel to that person's chest and twist; this will stop their heart instantly. [[Note: The Mord Sith can use their prisoner's magic to force them to do as they wish, even without the use of their Agiel. If they tell someone to stand in their cell overnight, and they end up falling asleep and laying down, their disobedience can bring them so much pain that they can't gather the strength to stand again and suffer until morning. Note2: Fully trained Mord Sith always wear a body suit made of all leather and buckles. They have numerous suits, all in different colours, but the most outstanding colours are the red, the maroon, and the white. The red they will use when they know they will enter a situation where there will be a lot of blood-shed, the marron is for not-so-special occasions, and the white is when they are feeling somewhat peaceful and are positive that there will be no blood-shed [example1 ;; example2 ;; example3 of the white leather]. Also, when in public, the Mord Sith will wear their hair in a tight braid at all times, they only take the braid out when they sleep or anything of that sort.]] "The weapon of Mord-Sith, the agiel is a thin leather rod about a foot long, that usually hangs from a fine gold chain around the holder's wrist, making the weapon easily accessible at all times."
Mord Sith in Training Once a year, the Head Mord Sith along with a troop or soldiers goes out into the country side in order to search for new Mord Sith to Train. They choose the most harmless and kind-hearted little girls, having learned that the greatest cruelty can be brought out of the most innocent of hearts. Very few girls are brought back to Caritan Hall [the seat of power of Kenric], and once there, quite a few of them die during training. They are tortured from the very beginning, they are taught about every type of pain possible. Once they've reached a certain stage in their training, they are brought back to their home and they are ordered to kill their father. They are then brought back to Caritan Hall for more training, before months or years later they are brought to their home again, and ordered to torture their mother to death. Once they have completed this, they are awarded their Agiel and the title of Mord Sith.
Confessors
Mother Confessor The Mother Confessor is the leader of Confessors, and she is very highly regarded. The Mother Confessor ranks above Kings and Queens. She is elected by the collective vote of all fully trained Confessors. She is a political figure as well as a leader. [[note: the Mother Confessor, when in public and not in battle or anything of that sort, will wear a white dress meant for the Mother Confessor. It can be made of silk, or just plain cotton [whichever the occasion], it is long, and has a belt at the waist, and the neckline is squared. [example1 ;; example2].
Confessors Confessors were created in order to get answers out of prisoners or war. Once the Great Wards were over, they were used for the confessions of regular prisoners; such as convicted murderers, or rapists. The Confessor's power is constantly held at bay by their sheer will, and once released is irreversible. When a Confessor touches a convict [or anyone they may touch on purpose or by accident through self defence or any other reason], that person's mind is gone. Once touched, they are completely devoted to the Confessor who touched them. The Confessor may then ask them anything, and they will answer truthfully. Due to this power however, a Confessor can never marry, or have sex for that matter, with a man she loves [unless of course she wants his mind gone and she only wishes to have his body]. Therefore most Confessors will never marry out of love, in stead they will chose a man they don't care for, one who will give her strong daughters. The Confessor's power may only be passed on from mother to daughter, through birth alone. Male children are killed once they've been born, the Confessor's magic tends to run rampant in males, driving them insane. They therein become a danger to everyone around them. Therefore they are killed at birth, before the problem can begin to develop. [[Note: All Confessors, unless they've been sent on a mission, reside in the Country of Edlin, the City of Edlin in particular. Note2: Regular Confessors, under normal conditions, will wear a dress much like the Mother Confessor's, only that rather it being white, the dress is black. [look at description for dress above under "Mother Confessor"].]] "A Confessor's power works by taking the spark of love in someone, no matter how tiny, and build on it, turning it into complete devotion to the Confessor. One touched by a Confessor will do anything she says, including confessing the truth of any crime he may have committed, hence the name "Confessor." The Confessor's power works, not by bringing forth the power, but simply by releasing restraint on that power while touching the intended target. The average Confessor's power takes about a day to recover. In a male, the Confessor's power takes no time to recover, and is stronger, but men are also easily corrupted by the power."
Confessors in Training [0/10] Confessors are generally taught by their own mothers, though other Confessors may aid in the teachings and passing-on of knowledge. Most Confessors in Training become full Confessors around the age of eighteen, after having gone through their first confession at a public or private trial.
Fae
Fae Fae have been belived to be a thing of myth for many years. That they were either mere legend or completely extinct. No one's seen a Fae in decades! Well, that is because they are very rare, and in fact there was only one small group left until recently. They live far North, in the wilderness. A troop of exploring Kenric soldiers came upon their valley and killed as many of them as they could. A total of five Faes escaped, and none know of the others, believing themselves to be the only one left.
Now, these fairies arn't the size of your thumb; we're not talking tinker bell here. They are human size, ranging from say 5'2" to 6'3" when full grown. And not all of them have wings. Very few did even in their group. Those who do possess wings however, are able to retract them; this makes them appear very very human. One thing that could give them away while even their wings are hidden away is their eyes. They are usually strangely coloured; light amber, pale violet, bright emerald green, etc.
Royalty
Kings There are three lands, therefore three Kings; two of which are Wizards. The land of Kenric, and the land of Abadden are ruled under Wizard Kings, while the King of Edlin is un-gifted. The King of Kenric and the King of Edlin are currently in a vicious war; one side being for magic while the other being against it. Ironically enough, the King of Kenric, who is a wizard, wishes to rid the world of magic, while the King of Edlin wishes to keep it in tact. The Kingdom of Abadden is trying to remain neutral and out of the way.
Queens The Queens rule by their Kings' side, holding just as much power and authority. While a King is away at war or for any political reason, the Queen is in full charge of her Kingdom.
Princes They are Heirs to the throne. Some have remained in their home land, while a small amount have gone to the Palace of Raziel in order to study magic [if they are gifted that is].
Princesses Same as the Princes, some have remained in their homes while other have gone off to study magic.
Lords They rule some of the smaller countries surrounding the three large Kingdoms of Edlin, Kenric, and Abadden. The Lords have not yet been pulled into the war, but it won't be long before they will be asked to, or forced to, join one side or another.
Ladies One of the Ladies rules by a Lord's side, while the other is the ruler of her own country. They face the same troubles as the Lords. They will soon need to decide which side to choose, for magic's continued existance, or for its destruction.
