In the beginning of time, a group of men were each given a special pendant to wear and protect. These pendants each held something evil; Violence. Disease. Death. Pain. Promiscuity. Wrath. Distrust.
But over time, these evil demons took control of their human hosts, causing them imortality and the burden of the curse they were meant to protect.
Now, a group of angels has been sent to earth to protect mortals and defeat the demons. These angels represent all that is good; Peace. Love. Honor. Life. Hope. Faith. Truth.
However, these demons have become clever in their long lifetime, and so to protect themselves, they've created a small army of humans by giving them special powers, causing them to fight for what is evil. They had chosen their soldiers well. The angels, learning of this, began to do the same thing, choosing their soldiers equally as well. And so, a supernatural war has begun, known only to those strong enough to have power, or sly enough to have discovered the secret on their own.
Before long, every human will have to choose a side and fight.
